ACCA Professional Scheme

About ACCA
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is a UK-based professional body issuing one of the most highly respected and valued international qualifications in business. It is recognised by member states of the European Union and the United Nations.

The ACCA professional scheme qualification enables you to become a Chartered Certified Accountant: this is not simply an accountant who knows how to extract the financial statements of an organisation, but rather a person involved in the decision making of his/her organisation.

As the world's largest international accounting body, ACCA members are highly sought after in the job market and hold key positions in major international companies. Because ACCA examines students in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), its members are well prepared for the current shift to IFRS.

Gaining this qualification is evidence that you possess skills and knowledge which are in high demand by employers in industry, banking, auditing, consulting as well as other professions like taxation and law.

Diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards (DipIFR)

Throughout Europe financial reporting must conform to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) within the next few years.

Therefore, everyone involved in financial reporting must come to understand the requirements of International Financial Reporting Standards as soon as possible in order to work successfully in the new reporting environment.

Very soon most of the world's major stock exchanges, New York being the exception, will adopt IFRS and at that point accountants worldwide will be required to have an in-depth knowledge of, and the ability to apply, IFRS

The DipIFR is therefore a very useful and timely qualification.

The globally recognised Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) introduced this IFRS qualification (the Diploma in International Financial Reporting) in response to a growing demand for this knowledge.
